Problem:

During my time at Ball State University’s Recreation Services, I was responsible for creating promotional materials to enhance the wellness of the university patrons. My tasks included updating the Recreation Services website, managing our social media account, and designing print and digital assets to promote events and important campus updates. Maintaining virtual engagement on social media was especially crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to stay connected with the student body.

Solution:

To adapt to social distancing, our sports club photoshoots were conducted outdoors and featured individual members, which posed a challenge in creating consistent, professional-looking assets. To address this, I focused on creating more dynamic and engaging photo edits, elevating the typical sports portraits to better connect with the audience. Additionally, we often used illustrations as a substitute for photoshoots, as they provided a more flexible and convenient alternative.
